When I think of a Walt Disney World vacation, I can’t imagine doing so without staying on the beautiful property in one of the Disney World Resort hotels.
With over 25 resort options to choose from, you get a fully immersive, magical experience, and there are tons of perks to staying on property. Below are many of the benefits to staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel.
7. Extra Magic Hours
Affectionately known as EMH. This perk is the best! It allows on-site guests with theme park admission to arrive up to one hour early or stay up to three hours past closing time on certain days. You can find specific EMH times here.
Disney’s newest invention: the Magicband. An amazing, waterproof wristband that holds a (Mickey-shaped) sensor and acts as your room key, park ticket, allows you to charge food, access Fast Pass+ and Disney PhotoPass. It’s basically your magic wand for the trip.
You’ll receive this little gadget if you stay on property at a Disney Resort hotel and is the easiest, fastest way to gain access to all of Walt Disney World’s services. For some FAQs on Magicbands, click here
5. Disney Dining Plan
As explained in my previous blog post, these packages are only available to resort guests on Disney property.
4. Disney’s Magical Express
Free transportation to your hotel from the Orlando International Airport so you don’t have to drag your tired, traveled self into a shuttle or cab. Your luggage will be transferred directly to your room and check-in services are available. To find out more about Magical Express, click here.
Disney offers free bus service from all on property resort locations to all four theme parks, both water parks, Disney Springs, Disney’s Boardwalk, and ESPN Wide World of Sports. Busses run from 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 a.m. daily.
2. Merchandise Delivery
Free shipping of park merchandise directly to your resort room. Great for those who don’t want to carry around your souvenirs all day!
Includes free, in room wi-fi, high end restaurants and spas, multiple pool locations, and world-class Disney service!
There are many factors that can go into choosing the best hotel in planning your Disney vacation. If in doubt, it’s best to consult a vacation planner specializing in Disney Destinations. For more Disney tips or vacation help contact me here and follow me on Twitter @suz_garcia.
