Last week at the Disney Legends Awards held during the D23 Expo, Richard Sherman released a new song called “Kiss Goodnight” as a tribute to Walt himself.
For those who know about Disney World’s Kiss Goodnight, they know that it’s the best thing you’re missing at the parks.
For those of you saying, what is this Kiss Goodnight? Well, you’re not alone.
At the advent of the opening of Disneyland, Walt had the idea to give his guests a treat at the end of the day as a way of saying thank you and goodbye. Hence, the Kiss Goodnight. It is a brief light and fireworks display that now takes place at Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom about 30 minutes prior to park closing.
Below is a video of the newly released “Kiss Goodnight” written by Richard Sherman and performed by Ashley Brown.
And now I’m sobbing.
Don’t think I’d leave you hanging without showing you the actual “Kiss!” (P.S. Video doesn’t do it justice) Be sure to stay for this on your next trip!
