Ribab Fusion is Premiering at Morocco Pavilion in World Showcase

Earlier this week, it was announced that the North African band, Ribab Fusion will be replacing B’net Al Houwariyate at Epcot’s Morocco pavilion.

Last year long-time Epcot entertainment group Mo’Rockin was replaced, and it seems that Ribab Fusion is the latest incarnation of entertainment in the pavilion. The band revels in Morroco’s Amazigh culture and fuse together popular African sounds sounds such as jazz, funk, traditional beats, and modern Afropop.

Chef Rick Bayless Set to Open Frontera Fresco at Disney Springs

James Beard Foundation award winner and Top Chef Master winner, Chef Rick Bayless is slated to open a new restaurant, Frontera Fresco in Disney Springs.

Chef Bayless is known for his classic Mexican cuisine and the restaurant will feature specialties such as tortas, tacos, salads, braised meats and tradional, time-honored Mexican dishes. Frontera Fresco will offer specialty margaritas and beer and wine, as well.

 

Disney Wine and Dine Marathon Weekend Set for November 6-7, 2015

This year’s runDisney Wine and Dine Marathon Weekend takes place on Nov. 6-7 and will include the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon, Mickey’s Jingle Jungle 5K, runDisney Kids’ Races, the runDisney Health and Fitness Expo and a Finish Line Party at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival.

The Jingle Jungle 5K begins Nov. 7 at 7:00 a.m. I’ts a scenic course through Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, with characters and other entertainment scattered throughout.  Participants will receive:

• 5K Unisex T-shirt
• 5K Finisher medallion
• Official Event Guide
• iGift bag
• Personalized bib (Must register by August 4, 2015 for name to appear on bib)
• On-course and post-race refreshments

The Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon begins Nov. 7 at 10:00 p.m. and will take you through three theme parks beautifully lit for the night! There will be characters and entertainment throughout and will finish at the Finish Line Party at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival.  Participants will receive:

• Champion® Long-Sleeved Tech Shirt in Women’s or Men’s Cut
• Commemorative Finisher medal
• Official Event Guide
• $15 Disney Gift Card

The runDisney Kids Races include a variety of dashes that take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Track and Filed Complex. Each runner will get their own medallion, and must be under 13 years of age. There’s even a Diaper Dash for those under 12 months!

The runDisney Health and Fitness Expo takes place all weekend starting on Friday, Nov. 6 at 10:00 a.m. and is located in the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. It’s the spot to check out all runDisney Race Merchandise, as well as the latest and greatest in  fitness apparel, footwear, gadgets, nutrition, and accessories.

The expo will also have a Speaker Series showcasing talks on training, running, and nutrition and features celebrity runners and trainers. All running participants must attend the Expo to pick up race number, shirt and runDisney gear bag.
