WHAT!? Free Disney Attractions? What is this madness, you ask?
Okay. Hear me out. Disney has TONS of stuff to do, and most people don’t realize that a lot of those things don’t include going into the parks (and spending money).
I wanted to put together a list of my favorite free things to do. Now, these are only at Walt Disney World, but Disneyland Resort has its own versions of some of these, too.
Monorail:
I love the Monorail! It’s not a real Disney vacation if I don’t ride it at least once (READ: 12 times). If you can get yourself to the TTA, the Monorail is free to ride for anyone, as it doesn’t actually require park admission. It’s a great way to insert some Disney magic if you have an extra day or two in your vacation, but don’t want to purchase a park ticket.
Disney Springs:
Currently Downtown Disney, this shopping and dining district is an amazing place to wander and walk, people watch, maybe grab a drink and stroll through the fun shops. It’s currently being renovated into the new Disney Springs which will incorporate high-end shopping, immersive themed dining, and a more engaging and captivating experience for all visitors. While you might want to spend a little bit of dough here (I’m looking at you, shopaholics), you aren’t required to purchase park admission to simply stroll around and have a great time.
Bay Lake Ferry:
Like Disney Springs, you don’t need to purchase park admission to enjoy a ride on the Bay Lake Ferry. If you’re looking for a peaceful or even romantic activity to do for literally no cost, this is a great option.
Water Pageant:
The Bay Lake Water Pageant occurs nightly and is viewable from anywhere you can see the bay. I really like to view it from the Polynesian resort as you can here the music pumped in to the resort, and you don’t need park admission to view this nightly entertainment.
I really like adding these attractions to my vacations. They’re super fun and I love that they add more variety than a typical “theme park” trip might offer. If you love them too, be sure to share this post!
